As a Supervisor of Clinical Medical Assistants, you’ll oversee clinical staff, coordinate staffing and patient flow, and support quality patient care. You’ll also assist with examinations, treatments, laboratory testing, patient education, and referrals while maintaining accurate records and following practice protocols.

- Supervises, coaches, and evaluates clinical staff to support job performance, policy compliance, quality patient care, and customer service
- Schedules staff based on patient volume, practice needs, and budget and monitors patient flow
- Coordinates staff orientation, ongoing training, and communication and maintains required documentation
- Manages medical supply and medication inventories and ensures compliance with CLIA/COLA, OSHA, and infection control requirements
- Prepares patients for examinations, assists providers with treatments and testing, and coordinates follow-up care within the scope of the position
- Collects and accurately documents patient information, vital signs, medications, allergies, and care received at other locations
- Administers medications as directed by providers and documents administration and adverse reactions according to practice protocols
- Provides and documents patient and family education to support health self-management
- Collects and processes specimens, performs laboratory testing and quality checks, and reports results and equipment issues
- Triages patient complaints and calls within practice protocols and scope of practice and responds appropriately to emergencies
- Coordinates referrals, verifies coverage, completes and transmits authorized referral documentation within 2 business days, and tracks follow-up reports
- Communicates clearly with patients and families, explains procedures and wait times, and participates in care team meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a medical assistant, vocational nursing, or emergency medical technician program, or documentation from the applicable authority confirming an accepted exception to the education requirement preferred
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required
- One qualifying credential: CCMA, CMA-AAM, NCMA, NRCMA, EMT, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, licensed paramedic, RMA-AMT, RMA-AAH, RMA-ARMA, or RMA-AAMP required
- 1 year of clinical experience required
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
