We're looking for a Director I Clinical Support Services– CLCAE & Volunteer Services, someone ready to grow with our company. In this position, you'll direct the clinical and support services functions of the Child Life, Creative Arts & Education (CLCAE) department and the Volunteer Services department, along with other departments determined by leadership. You'll provide strategic partnership, leadership, and oversight to design, implement, and evaluate staffing, operations, and programming that support organizational goals. You'll also maintain accountability for operations, administrative, and human resources activities within your designated areas of responsibility, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, developmentally appropriate, family-centered care.

Responsibilities

Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, age-appropriate, cost-effective care and/or service within a family-centered care environment, measured through KPIs, variance analysis, revenue enhancement/expense reduction, patient satisfaction and complaints, regulatory compliance, and new programs/initiatives.

Oversee all aspects of the CLCAE department, ensuring integrated, developmentally appropriate services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Promote a culture of patient- and family-centered care by setting expectations for interdisciplinary teamwork, communication, and trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate practice across clinical programs.

Oversee Volunteer Services programming to support patients, families, staff, and visitors in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.

Research and incorporate industry standards and best practices across all departments in scope.

Mentor leaders enhance performance and support staff development, as measured by observation, development sessions, and feedback.

Cultivate relationships with internal and external partners (e.g., schools, community agencies, foundations, volunteer organizations) to expand resources and continuity of support for patients and families.

Maintain effective working relationships with medical leadership, direct reports, and interdepartmental liaisons to ensure identified goals are achieved.

Partner with medical and operational leaders to align services with clinical priorities, patient/family needs, and care pathways.

Foster a work climate that promotes employee participation, satisfaction, and organizational commitment, measured by annual survey results, turnover, and employee initiatives.

Implement staff engagement and wellbeing strategies (e.g., debriefing, recognition, workload monitoring) to support retention and resilience.

Develop service/departmental priorities that support the organization's strategic plan and drive continuous improvement, measured by department statistics, benchmarks, and PI initiatives.

Identify opportunities for program growth and sustainability, including workflow standardization, evaluation of new initiatives, and alignment of resources with strategic priorities.

Assess service demand and develop staffing models, coverage plans, and role clarity to ensure consistent services across inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

Requirements

Master's degree in health administration, Child Life, Social Work, Education, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field required

5 years of supervisory/management experience in child life, patient/family support services, volunteer services, social services, or related healthcare operations required
