Tech Lead - Sydney, Australia (CBD area) - Contract

We are seeking a Tech Lead for a project-based assignment to support a client engagement in Sydney, CBD area. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong engineering expertise, leadership capabilities, and excellent communication skills. You will remain actively involved in software development while partnering with senior business stakeholders, engineering leaders, and distributed teams to drive successful project delivery. The ideal candidate has strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and cloud-native application development, preferably on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires the ability to lead technical initiatives, communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, and coordinate engineering efforts across globally distributed teams.

• →Lead hands-on engineering efforts using TypeScript, Node.js, and modern cloud technologies.
• →Provide technical direction and guidance to local team members.
• →Partner with C-level leaders, VPs, and technology stakeholders to understand priorities, align expectations, and communicate progress.
• →Coordinate closely with engineering teams across multiple regions to ensure smooth execution and delivery.
• →Translate business and stakeholder needs into clear technical plans and actionable workstreams.
• →Review architecture, code quality, technical decisions, and implementation approach.
• →Support delivery planning, technical problem-solving, and day-to-day execution.
• →Identify risks, blockers, and dependencies early and communicate them clearly to stakeholders.
• →Help ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with client expectations.

• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
• Experience leading engineering teams or acting as a Technical Lead on complex projects.
• Solid understanding of cloud-based application development, preferably with GCP.
• Ability to communicate clearly with senior executives, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
• Experience coordinating work across distributed or global teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
• Comfortable working in a client-facing environment with high visibility.
• Ability to work onsite in Sydney.

• Experience working with teams across multiple regions, especially India and the US.
• Experience in real estate technology, proptech, property management platforms, brokerage platforms, leasing systems, or adjacent real estate domains.
• Prior consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
• Experience with cloud architecture, APIs, microservices, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern engineering workflows.
