MGA Accountant

Technomar Shipping Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented MGA accountant to join our accounting department. As an MGA accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.

  Handles key information for each seaman, such as details of the contract per service and transactions in each MGA period

• →

  Calculates the working days & pay of each seaman (i.e., wages, deductions, taxes for Greek seamen)

• →

  Finalizes each MGA period (average monthly rate)

• →

  Creates payroll per payment currency for each seaman

• →

  Produces Master Cash Statement, summary of Provision Account, and reports of transactions per category (e.g., monthly allotments, cash advances by Master, etc.)

• →

  A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field

• →

  Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a relevant discipline

• →

  Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• →

  Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office Suite

• →

  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• →

  Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management

• →

  Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• →

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• →

  Experience in preparing financial statements and reports

• →

  Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance
