We are seeking a technically grounded and detail-oriented Product Manager II to own the Retail module and Core application layer within Tekion's Automotive Enterprise Cloud (AEC) platform. This is a platform-facing product role — you will bridge the gap between OEM program requirements and Tekion's engineering organisation, ensuring that complex business needs from GM, Honda, and other OEM partners are translated into well-defined, scalable platform capabilities.
Your primary ownership spans vehicle configuration and inventory, deal structuring workflows, and the Core platform layer — including login, SSO, user roles, and permissions. You will partner closely with OEM program teams to understand requirements first-hand and work with platform engineering to spec, prioritise, and deliver features that meet OEM certification standards while remaining extensible across the platform.
Responsibilities
~1 min readDefine and maintain the product roadmap for vehicle configuration, inventory management, and deal structuring workflows within the AEC platform. Translate OEM program requirements into a prioritised, execution-ready backlog.
Own the Core application layer — including user authentication (login/SSO), role-based access control (RBAC), permissions frameworks, and cross-module platform services. Ensure these foundations are robust, configurable, and OEM-certifiable.
Requirements
~1 min readAct as the primary product interface between OEM program teams (GM, Honda, and others) and Tekion's platform engineering organisation. Convert OEM business and functional requirements into clearly scoped platform features, API contracts, and data models.
Demonstrated experience working with enterprise or OEM partners to decompose business needs into API contracts, data models, and well-scoped engineering deliverables.
Write precise user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature specs for your engineering squad. Maintain a groomed, well-prioritised backlog that balances OEM program commitments, platform health, and roadmap investments.
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to design configuration schemas, inventory data feeds, and pricing rule structures that support multi-OEM requirements while remaining scalable and maintainable.
Understand and document end-to-end deal structuring flows — from vehicle selection and option pricing through to deal presentation — ensuring feature decisions align with both OEM program rules and dealer operational needs.
Coordinate across OEM program teams, platform engineering, and internal business stakeholders to resolve requirement conflicts, manage dependencies, and maintain shared delivery timelines.
Define success metrics for new platform capabilities — adoption rates, error rates, configuration accuracy, permission incident rates. Iterate on features based on data and OEM program feedback.
Validate that platform capabilities meet OEM-mandated compliance, security, and certification standards. Support quarterly program reviews and OEM sign-off processes.
Partner with program and business teams to build rollout plans and enablement materials for new platform features, ensuring smooth adoption across OEM and internal user groups.
In platform, enterprise SaaS, or OEM/B2B technology products. Experience owning both functional features and foundational platform capabilities (auth, permissions, configuration) is strongly preferred.
Comfortable reasoning about authentication, RBAC/permissions systems, configuration management, and API design. You don't need to write the code — but you need to own the spec.
Familiar with API design, webhooks, and data contracts. Able to read and review API specs, identify integration gaps, and collaborate directly with engineers on resolution.
Experience defining KPIs, tracking adoption metrics, and iterating on product decisions based on quantitative and qualitative signals.
Able to write crisp PRDs, user stories, and platform specs — and communicate trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to navigate ambiguous OEM requirements, decompose complex workflows, and drive decisions in the absence of full information.
- Experience in automotive retail technology, OEM digital programs, or dealer-facing platforms.
- Familiarity with vehicle configuration systems, inventory management, or automotive deal structuring.
- Exposure to OEM certification processes (GM DRP, Honda ODSX, or equivalent programs).
- Understanding of identity and access management patterns (OAuth, SSO, RBAC at scale).
- Prior experience working in a multi-OEM or multi-tenant platform environment.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery — backlog management, sprint planning, and story-writing at pace.
This role sits at the core of how OEM requirements become platform reality. As a PM II in AEC, you will:
• Own critical platform capabilities used by major OEMs — from vehicle config and inventory to deal workflows.
• Be the translation layer between complex OEM business needs and platform engineering — a high-leverage, high-visibility position.
• Shape foundational Core platform capabilities (auth, RBAC, permissions) that underpin every AEC feature.
• Grow your OEM partnership and platform product skills in one of the most active program environments in the company.
