Job Summary

The Nursing Clinical Coordinator coordinates clinical experiences, placements, and schedules for nursing students and faculty while serving as a liaison between the college and clinical partners. The position helps ensure compliance with clinical requirements, supports student and faculty onboarding, evaluates clinical experiences, and promotes effective communication and strong partnerships with healthcare facilities.

Job Duties

• Serve as a liaison for RSCC Nursing Program between clinical affiliate personnel and faculty.
• Attend all pertinent clinical meetings.
• Actively seek out new clinical opportunities as needed.
• Ensure clinical affiliation agreements are current.
• Facilitate optimal relationship between clinical personnel, faculty, and students.
• Conduct and document regular visits to clinical sites.
• Compile, analyze and share data from clinical unit surveys with faculty and clinical affiliates.
• Evaluate effectiveness of student experiences at facilities through end of semester surveys.
• Assist with orientation, development, and evaluation of clinical faculty.
• Facilitate good communication and address issues, concerns, and feedback at faculty meetings and with the Nursing Program Director and/or division dean.
• Collaborate with program director to plan and implement the onboarding of students.
• Develop clinical schedule/assignments for all RSCC nursing courses.
• Secure placements, develop schedule and participate in oversight of precepted clinical experiences.
• Collaborate with faculty teaching the courses regarding clinical assignments as needed.
• Assist Program Director with planning Advisory Committee meeting.
• Collaborate with Program Director to ensure that students and faculty are informed about clinical requirements including specific requirements of affiliates (i.e., orientation, CBC/UDS, CPR, immunizations, etc).
• Ensure that students and faculty are compliant with clinical requirements of affiliates – orientation, health, background, urine drug screen, etc.
• Work in partnership with the Program Director to resolve any conflicts or clinical concerns among students, faculty, and/or facility personnel in a timely, professional manner. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  
• Active TN RN license.
  
• Prior clinical experience in an acute care setting.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
  
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
  
• Competent in word processing, use of spreadsheets, and data bases.
