About the Role

~1 min read

As Senior Product Manager at TextUs, you'll own what we build and why — driving discovery, shaping the roadmap, and authoring the Product Briefs our development process runs on. You'll work with a dedicated product team spanning product ownership, product marketing, and product design to take your briefs from problem definition through launch, with a direct hand in how TextUs differentiates, including AI-based capabilities.

Responsibilities

~3 min read
  • Discovery and roadmap. Own product discovery — customer needs, market signal, and competitive dynamics — and develop the roadmap recommendations including business cases and prioritization. Present recommendations to TextUs's executive team for approval. Regularly present the roadmap to internal stakeholders and to customers.
  • Product metrics and insight. Regularly communicate insight into key product metrics across the organization — through Quarterly Business Reviews and other established mechanisms — connecting product performance to roadmap decisions and business outcomes.
  • Competitive and market intelligence. Own product-level competitive positioning and intelligence, including the product and competitive view presented in Quarterly Business Reviews. Assess and address regulatory and technical constraints relevant to product decisions, and advocate for security, risk, and compliance in new feature definition.
  • Product Briefs. Author net-new Product Briefs end to end in collaboration with the Product Team. This includes problem definition, business rationale, customer evidence, key requirements and MVP definition, and the product-level constraints (limits, rules, and edge behavior) that determine what gets built. Briefs serve as the source of truth for the development process and must be complete enough to build against.
  • AI-based product capability. Define and champion AI-based features as part of the roadmap, and apply AI-assisted approaches to discovery, analysis, and brief creation as a standard part of the group's working practice.
  • Launch positioning, in partnership with Product Marketing. Create the initial positioning and market angle at brief time; the Product Marketing Manager carries that positioning through each release and owns the handoff to Marketing and Customer Success. You remain accountable for the product's positioning through every launch.
  • Product and competitive content. Write and produce product-facing materials — product presentations, competitive comparisons, and related content — and contribute substantively to enablement and marketing collateral led by Product Marketing. The expectation is hands-on authorship, not review: the materials that carry the product's positioning and competitive story start with you.
  • Sales and Customer Success support. Support Sales and Customer Success with product expertise on an ongoing basis — answering incoming questions about the product and its capabilities, contributing to enablement through each launch, and meeting directly with customers and prospects to understand their needs and represent the product.
  • Work collaboratively across the product lifecycle. Partner with the Product Owner, Product Marketing Manager, and Product Designer throughout — the brief process is a shared-ownership model in which each role holds defined sections and the other roles participate as standing stakeholders. Iteratively collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and executive stakeholders to align on objectives, scope, and priorities, and maintain that alignment as work moves from definition through build and launch.

You will partner closely with a dedicated Product Owner who manages the through-development stage — backlog, specifications, release discipline, and the definitive record of what shipped. The brief process is collaborative: you are responsible for the problem definition and MVP; the Product Owner is responsible for build-level detail; and scope changes are made by mutual agreement. Strong collaboration between these two roles is essential to the operating model.

You will also partner closely with the Product Marketing Manager through each launch. You create the initial positioning and market angle at brief time; the Product Marketing Manager develops it through release planning, enablement, and the handoff to Marketing and Customer Success, with your continued involvement on positioning and the competitive story. Launches are led by Product Marketing, with Product Management as an active contributor from planning through go-live.

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with significant experience in B2B SaaS, including ownership of problem definition and brief or requirements authorship at a level engineering teams could build from with minimal rework.
  • Strong authorship. Able to carry a brief to a near-final state independently, with director-level review serving as coaching rather than co-authoring.
  • Collaborative working style. A track record of negotiating scope constructively, working effectively in shared-ownership processes, and building strong relationships across functions.
  • AI fluency. Experience shipping or defining AI-based product capabilities, and proficiency using AI tools in your own product practice.
  • Comfortable in a CI/CD environment with frequent releases, and in a small-company setting that requires working flexibly across role boundaries when needed.
  • Compensation: $130,000–$170,000 base
  • Location: Denver, Colorado; hybrid model
  • Hires for this role: 1
  • Target start: 4–6 weeks from offer
  • Reporting to: Product Director
