Equipment & Fleet Maintenance Manager

• →Lead the maintenance function across multiple business units and locations, ensuring maintenance activities support operational requirements and business objectives.

• →Provide leadership, coaching, and development to maintenance teams while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• →Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize fleet availability, equipment reliability, and asset performance.

• →Prioritize and coordinate maintenance and repair activities to minimize downtime and ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for operation.

• →Partner closely with Operations, Dispatch, and Planning teams to align maintenance schedules with fleet utilization and business demands.

• →Analyze maintenance data, equipment trends, and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improved reliability, efficiency, and cost management.

• →Lead fleet lifecycle planning, including recommendations for equipment rebuilds, replacements, standardization initiatives, and capital investments.

• →Develop and continuously improve maintenance systems, processes, reporting, and best practices across the organization.

• →Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, dealerships, and contractors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery and support.

• →Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards while effectively managing maintenance budgets and resources.

• 7+ years of progressive maintenance experience in transportation, trucking, forestry, heavy equipment, industrial, or related environments, including leadership responsibility for maintenance teams and operations.

• Strong knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance programs, equipment reliability, asset lifecycle management, and fleet performance optimization.

• Experience managing heavy-duty truck fleets, mobile equipment, trailers, and related assets, with a proven ability to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.

• Demonstrated success leading maintenance planning, budgeting, vendor and contractor management, and continuous improvement initiatives in a multi-site or operationally complex environment.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to leverage maintenance data, KPIs, and operational insights to support decision-making, cost control, and capital planning.

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic, Commercial Transport Mechanic, or related trade certification is preferred. Post-secondary education in Maintenance Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field and experience with CMMS platforms are considered assets.
