We are now looking for a 'Senior Surveyor' to join our St James’s team, supporting a key part of our Central London portfolio.
Reporting to the Associate Director, you will take responsibility for managing a selection of commercial office and retail properties across the North & West St James’s portfolio.
This is a highly visible role where you will combine commercial acumen, operational excellence, and customer focus to deliver outstanding asset performance and tenant experience.
Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operations across a portfolio of multi-let commercial assets

Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards and drive best practice
- →
Build strong relationships with occupiers, enhancing customer experience and retention
- →
Oversee service charge budgets including preparation, reconciliation, and recovery
- →
Lead on lease management including enforcement, licences, and tenant alterations
- →
Conduct regular property inspections to maintain high asset standards
- →
Work closely with FM teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
- →
Support leasing activity and provide input into asset strategy and business planning
- →
Resolve tenant queries and disputes with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

Mentor and support junior colleagues, contributing to team development
- →
Embed sustainability initiatives to improve building performance and efficiency
We’re looking for a commercially astute and proactive surveyor who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.
Requirements
~1 min readMRICS qualified with post-qualification experience in property management
Strong experience across office and retail assets, ideally in a Central London environment
Proven ability to manage service charges from budgeting through to reconciliation
Excellent understanding of Landlord & Tenant legislation and lease interpretation
Strong negotiation skills and experience resolving tenant issues
Experience managing multi-let properties and working with managing agents/contractors
Confident communicator with a strong customer-first mindset
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
Exposure to crisis or incident management
Familiarity with property management systems and strong Excel skills
