As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining the systems that support our rinks—from ice-making and refrigeration equipment to HVAC, plumbing, and overall building operations. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and your work directly impacts every skater who steps onto the ice.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Maintain and repair mechanical systems (air handlers, pumps, fan coils; chiller experience preferred)
- →Operate and support rink refrigeration and ice-making systems
- →Service refrigeration equipment (walk-ins, reach-ins, ice machines)
- →Troubleshoot and repair plumbing fixtures and piping systems
- →Perform general facility repairs (drywall, flooring, doors, locker rooms, furnishings)
- →Monitor building systems and respond quickly to operational needs
- →Support tournaments, events, and high-traffic rink schedules
- →Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed
- →Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment
- →Complete and manage work orders using a computerized maintenance system
- →Assist with electrical troubleshooting and basic repairs
- High school diploma or GED
- 5+ years of facilities maintenance or related trade experience
- EPA Universal Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with refrigeration systems (ice rink experience a plus)
- Proficiency with hand tools, soldering, and basic fabrication (brazing/welding a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to communicate clearly and professionally
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
