The Staff Pad has partnered with a well-established logistics and warehousing organization we are looking to hire a dependable, safety-focused Driver for their Chicago, IL location. Ideal Candidate Profile We are seeking licensed, experienced drivers who take pride in safe, reliable, and careful service. No prior art-handling experience is required, as training will be provided. Candidates with backgrounds in residential moving, interior design, or private-residence fire and water damage restoration are especially encouraged to apply, as these skills translate well to handling high-value items with care and attention to detail Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Valid Illinois Class C Non CDL Driver’s License Please note: This is an Illinois specific operator license, not a commercial DOT license CDL licenses are also accepted 2–3 years of commercial driving experience operating 16'–26' straight box trucks (Previous box truck driving experience required) Clean driving history and ability to pass an MVR background check Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push or pull up to 150 lbs using a dolly or cart Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and overhead reaching for extended periods Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Effective verbal and written communication skills with attention to accurate documentation Collaborative team player who can work effectively across all levels in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications — Training Provided Experience in residential moving, interior design, or private-residence fire/water damage restoration Familiarity with fine art transportation and climate-controlled vehicles Prior art handling, gallery, or museum experience Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and transportation operations What You’ll Do Safely operate 16'–26' company box trucks for local and interstate collections and deliveries Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are safe, clean, and prepared Verify goods against daily trip sheets or manifests before departure Report manifest changes to the Dispatch Manager and obtain approval before implementation Assist with loading and unloading using hand trucks, pallet jacks, J-bars, dollies, and other material handling equipment Support residential moves, collections, and deliveries of furniture and personal effects Learn and apply proper techniques for handling, packing, and transporting fine art, antiques, and fragile items as training progresses Complete accurate trip sheets, condition reports, and other required documentation Complete manual timesheets and obtain supervisor or manager signatures within 24 hours when starting or ending the workday off-site Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the company positively in client-facing situations What You Can Expect Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance + Company-provided life insurance Competitive paid time off to support work-life balance Employee discount program Fuel card for eligible work-related travel Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options Gym membership benefits to support health and wellness Opportunities to grow into fine art and antiques handling as you gain experience with the team If you’re ready to put your driving experience to work in a specialized logistics environment with opportunities to expand your skills, we’d love to hear from you.
