As a member of our Sales team, you'll have an exciting and varied day. You'll partner with the Sales Office, Area Sales team, Enterprise Sales Team, and other hotel departments to book group events, identify new group and catering opportunities, and support personal and property revenue goals.
You'll coordinate site inspections, Familiarization Tours, and customer events while working closely with account managers to create personalized experiences. You'll showcase the resort, highlight amenities and the local destination, and use your knowledge of the competitive market to demonstrate what makes our property unique.
Building strong relationships will be an important part of your role. You'll connect with new and existing customers, qualify leads, identify future group and catering opportunities, and participate in pre-planning visits. You'll also support group sales promotions, grow existing accounts, track leads and bookings from site visits, and recommend opportunities for function space and revenue.
When clients are onsite, you'll greet and assist them, escort overnight guests when appropriate, and help coordinate special requests. You'll support The Westin's Customer Service and Brand Standards throughout the sales process, help resolve customer concerns, and ensure business is communicated and turned over properly to Event Management. You'll participate in pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs, gather feedback, and help deliver service excellence at every customer touchpoint.
You'll also have opportunities to participate in community organizations and local activities that support future business.
This is a fast-paced role where organization, communication, adaptability, and attention to detail are essential. Your schedule may include site inspections, customer events, meetings, and other activities based on business needs.
Requirements
~1 min readTo thrive in this role, you'll need a passion for hospitality, sales, and customer service, along with the ability to build meaningful relationships and manage multiple opportunities.
A high school diploma or GED with four years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related professional area is required.
A two-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major with two years of experience in sales and marketing or a related professional area is required.
Large group sales experience is preferred.
Strong communication, organization, relationship-building skills, and knowledge of the local destination, competitive market, and resort offerings will help you succeed.
