A faith-based nonprofit organization in Louisville is seeking a compassionate and dependable Resource Center Generalist to serve on the front lines of our Resource Center in Louisville. This role plays a key part in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness or hardship by helping provide practical services in a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment.
This position blends direct client support, facility operations, administrative assistance, transportation support, and volunteer coordination. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, calm under pressure, and committed to both operational excellence and ministry impact.
Responsibilities

Greet and assist guests with dignity, respect, and compassion

Provide guidance on available services, policies, and procedures
- →
Support de-escalation of situations using training and best practices
- →
Assist guests with laundry services (washing, drying, folding, distribution)
- →
Support shower facility operations to ensure a safe, clean, and timely experience
Facility Operations

Perform daily cleaning of kitchens, restrooms, laundry areas, and shared spaces

Restock supplies and communicate inventory needs to leadership
- →
Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout all guest-access areas
- →
Support food pantry deliveries, including unloading and organizing inventory
- →
Assist with setup and cleanup for distributions and events
- →
Maintain hygiene supply levels and notify leadership of shortages
Administrative & Data Support

Assist with guest sign-in and data entry systems
- →
Provide phone coverage for inquiries and outreach coordination
- →
Support basic recordkeeping, paperwork, and reporting
Transportation & Outreach

Provide safe transportation for guests as needed

Assist with outreach efforts, including encampment visits when applicable

Transport laundry, clothing, and supplies between program sites

Support donation pick-ups and logistical transport needs
Volunteer Coordination & Team Support

Assist with volunteer orientation and shift support

Help onboard and train new volunteers as needed

Fill operational gaps based on daily needs and staffing coverage
Community & Ministry Engagement

Build positive relationships with guests through Christ-centered care

Represent Exodus Family Ministries professionally at all times

Participate in community engagement and ministry activities

Perform additional duties in support of organizational mission
Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and effective in high-need environments
Basic proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred
1–2 years of experience in nonprofit, social services, ministry, or administrative support
Experience working with vulnerable or unhoused populations
Frequent standing, walking, and reaching
Occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs)
Ability to navigate stairs and uneven terrain
Constant interaction requiring hearing, speaking, and visual awareness
Occasional travel required
Compassionate, welcoming presence
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to multitask and adapt in fast-paced environments
Initiative and willingness to step in where needed
Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills
Clear and effective communication
Dependability and results-oriented mindset
