~1 min read

You'll work closely with the Community Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly — balancing leasing support, financial administration, and resident relations while helping the team deliver an exceptional living experience.

  • Showcase apartments and community amenities to prospective residents
  • Track competitive properties and market trends to help shape leasing strategy
  • Help prepare newsletters, event materials, and promotional flyers
  • Conduct credit and reference checks on prospective residents
  • Serve as a point of contact for resident inquiries, requests, and concerns
  • Support renewal notices and retention follow-ups
  • Plan and help execute community events that build connection
  • Maintain proactive, friendly communication that keeps residents satisfied
  • Oversee move-in and move-out processes, ensuring lease terms are followed
  • Process, record, and deposit rental payments, application fees, and security deposits
  • Assist in reviewing delinquent accounts and initiating collection or legal action as needed
  • Process invoices through PayScan and verify vendor credentialing before scheduling services
  • Support preparation of the annual property budget
  • Maintain accurate financial records in Yardi and assist with financial reporting
  • Assist with deposit accounting and security deposit reconciliations
  • Keep resident files and lease agreements accurate and compliant with Fair Housing, DRE, and all applicable laws
  • Ensure timely renewals and ongoing lease compliance
  • Conduct regular property walks to maintain cleanliness and curb appeal
  • Enforce community policies and lease terms, addressing concerns professionally
  • Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure service requests are handled promptly
  • Maintain proficiency in Yardi and CRM IQ, using system tools to support leasing, accounting accuracy, and data integrity
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in multifamily or property management
  • A clean DMV record and ability to pass a background check
  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing laws and other applicable regulations
  • Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and comfort with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to walk the property regularly, including stairs, for inspections and resident communication
  • Comfort using approved AI tools to draft communications and streamline workflows, with a sharp eye for reviewing that content for accuracy and compliance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
  • A high level of integrity and a genuine, people-first approach to the job
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as the community needs

This role is a launching point. With strong performance, Assistant Community Managers can grow into Community Manager, Community Manager II, and Senior Community Manager roles as opportunities arise.

  • Competitive pay, full-time, non-exempt: $24.76–$35.82/hour
  • Full health coverage – medical, dental, vision, life, and long-term disability
  • Set schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (includes a 30-minute meal period)
  • Strong retirement support: 401(k) with a liberal company match
  • Time to recharge: paid vacation and sick time programs
  • Local perks: access to the Local Coastal Housing Partnership benefits
  • A team that has your back: join a company with six decades of stability and a genuine investment in its people

You'll be joining a company with deep roots and a culture built on real values — Community, Integrity, Quality, ROI, Sustainability, Team, and Customer Service. It's a role where your work shapes people's everyday lives, backed by six decades of doing this well.
