Nithview Community is a vibrant seniors' community in New Hamburg, Ontario, offering a full continuum of care including Long-Term Care, Retirement Living, Assisted Living, Adult Day Programs and community support services. Our focus is on providing compassionate, high-quality care while fostering dignity, independence and meaningful relationships.
The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides clinical leadership, nursing assessment, care coordination, and oversight of resident care at Nithview Retirement.
The RPN is responsible for assessing residents' changing needs, developing and maintaining individualized care plans, coordinating medication changes and new medication orders, communicating with residents and families, collaborating with physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacy and other health care providers, and monitoring the care provided by UCP/PSW staff.
The RPN supports the delivery of safe, resident-centred care while promoting resident dignity, choice, independence, quality of life, and safety.
The RPN practices within their professional scope, applicable legislation and regulations, College of Nurses of Ontario standards, and Nithview policies and procedures.
Hourly pay rate is $29.60 to 34.56.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Deliver safe, resident-centred nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards.
- →Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely.
- →Assess residents, monitor changes in condition and communicate appropriately with the care team.
- →Develop, implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- →Supervise and support Personal Support Workers.
- →Respond effectively to medical emergencies and changing resident needs.
- →Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- →Build positive relationships with residents, families and team members.
- →Promote a culture of respect, dignity and compassionate care.
Requirements
~1 min read- Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Current CPR certification.
- Demonstrated ability to practice within the RPN scope of practice.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, health care providers, and care staff.
- Ability to document accurately and objectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and all required pre-employment health requirements.
