~1 min readTRIAEM is seeking an experienced RTM Agile Software Test Engineer (ASTE) to support a mission-critical program in Springfield, VA.
This is a highly collaborative role for a professional who understands software testing within an Agile environment and can coordinate testing activities across Release Trains, engineering teams, vendors, and Government stakeholders. You will play an important role in ensuring software capabilities are properly tested, dependencies are identified and managed, and solutions are ready to support the mission.
The ideal candidate brings a combination of software testing, Agile/Release Train experience, Jira and Confluence expertise, and strong stakeholder coordination skills in a complex Government environment.
Responsibilities
~2 min readAs an Agile Software Test Engineer, you will schedule, track, coordinate, and synchronize software testing activities at the Release Train level, ensuring testing efforts remain aligned across projects, organizations, and dependent capabilities.
· Schedule, track, and synchronize software testing activities across the Release Train and coordinate with other projects and NGA organizations to ensure stakeholders understand upcoming testing efforts, dependencies, and cross-program impacts.
· Coordinate with required testing organizations, including the NGA Test Organization (NTO), and support established testing processes and applications such as SWAP and Selenium.
· Ensure key testing activities—including Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and other required test events—are properly scheduled, coordinated, and monitored through execution.
· Monitor testing activities and demonstrations associated with software package deliveries across assigned Release Trains.
· Establish and facilitate demonstration gates, working closely with Government Mission Owners, Product Owners, vendors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
· Coordinate meetings and accurately document discussions, decisions, changes, action items, and outcomes associated with proposed solutions.
· Maintain strong Jira and Confluence data integrity, ensuring records are properly linked through parent-child relationships and that dependencies are accurately reflected.
· Ensure appropriate Jira fields, tags, labels, and supporting records are correctly maintained for testing and engineering activities.
· Collaborate with system engineers supporting other Release Trains, vendor engineers, and Government Mission and Product Owners to translate requirements accurately into Program Epics and Features.
· Support engineering and testing requirements at the RTM level throughout the applicable Release Train lifecycle.
· Identify testing dependencies, coordination issues, and potential risks early and work across teams to support timely resolution.
Requirements
~1 min read· Active TS/SCI security clearance.
· Experience supporting software testing and/or software engineering activities within an Agile development environment.
· Experience coordinating testing activities across multiple teams, systems, projects, or Release Trains.
· Working knowledge of the software testing lifecycle, including test planning, readiness, execution, demonstrations, and documentation.
· Hands-on experience working with Jira and Confluence.
· Experience maintaining or working with Epics, Features, dependencies, parent-child relationships, tags, labels, and related Agile records.
· Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, testers, vendors, Product Owners, Mission Owners, and Government stakeholders.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to organize and track multiple testing activities, dependencies, meetings, decisions, and deliverables simultaneously.
Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI security clearance to be considered for this position.

· Previous NGA or Intelligence Community (IC) experience.
· Experience working with the NGA Test Organization (NTO).
· Familiarity with SWAP.
· Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium.
· Experience supporting Agile Release Trains.
· Familiarity with SAFe or scaled Agile environments.
· Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing, Operational Readiness Testing, and/or Test Readiness Reviews.
· Experience translating technical or mission requirements into Program Epics and Features.
This position will primarily support the customer in Springfield, Virginia, which is the preferred work location. Occasional support may also be required in Chantilly, Virginia.
