Elevate Organizational Performance: Drive the Future of AI-Powered Teams as our Next AI PDLC Engineering Manager
About Us:
Trimble is a global technology company that connects the physical and digital worlds, transforming the ways work gets done. With relentless innovation in precise positioning, modeling and data analytics, Trimble enables essential industries including construction, geospatial and transportation. Whether it's helping customers build and maintain infrastructure, design and construct buildings, optimize global supply chains or map the world, Trimble is at the forefront, driving productivity and progress.
What Makes This Role Great:
The AI Agentic Manager is a true hands-on manager. Embedded directly inside a pod, you serve as the pod's Lead Product Builder, hands-on-keyboard, protecting the pod's architecture, and directing the team's use of agentic AI across the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC), while also carrying the full people-leadership responsibilities of an Engineering Manager. You are simultaneously the technical backstop the pod relies on day-to-day and the people leader who develops, supports, and advocates for each pod member's career, workload, and well-being.
Key Exciting Responsibilities:
Pod Technical Leadership (Lead Product Builder duties)
* Shared Infrastructure Ownership: Build and maintain the shared repositories, CI/CD pipelines, evaluation tooling, and data access standards that keep the pod moving fast without breaking things.
* Architectural Guardrails: Act as the human backstop for code quality, system security, and maintainability. Ensure that AI-generated code scales sustainably and doesn’t accumulate crippling technical debt.
* Prototype to production: Take prototypes produced with agents and lead your pod in transforming them to production-quality features and capabilities: error handling, test coverage, observability, security review, and fit with the pod's existing architecture.
* Hands-On Direction: Actively direct the pod's use of AI coding agents: orchestrating agent workflows, reviewing agent output, and maintaining prompt libraries and evaluation datasets with a “trust but verify” mindset.
* Cross-Functional Advocacy: Bridge the gap between the pod and external teams (e.g., central Data/Analytics platforms, Security, legal/compliance) across the regions your pod supports.
People & Pod Management (Engineering Manager duties)
* Talent Leadership: Own hiring, onboarding, mentoring, performance management, career growth planning, and vacation/time-off approvals for pod members.
* AI Adoption and rollout: Drive the adoption of Agentic AI Engineering tooling within your area of responsibility; collect and use success metrics to continuously improve; adopt what others have built where possible, and contribute improvements to the wider organization.
* Planning & Prioritization: Partner with the Product Definer to translate strategic priorities into a healthy, sustainable pod backlog; manage capacity, throughput, and delivery quality.
* Risk, Security & Compliance Oversight: Maintain cybersecurity oversight of the pod's work, ensure adherence to platform and governance standards, and manage commercial software license renewals.
* Coaching Culture: Support pod members through continuous technical feedback, pairing sessions, and architectural guidance to elevate overall engineering capability and build a positive pod culture, while maintaining a high-quality, high-velocity delivery cadence.
* Business Alignment: Align engineering velocity with broader risk management, budget, and cost constraints, and represent the pod in organizational planning forums.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* 7+ years of experience architecting enterprise solutions, with deep technical specialization across complex business systems and workflows
* Proficiency in construction project management software and a strong understanding of practices and standards for managing information over the entire lifecycle of a building Information Model (BIM), such as ISO19650
* Experience using and managing an AI PDLC (Product Development Life Cycle) process, including directing agentic tools across planning, development, and delivery stages.
* Proven people-management and technical leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, and career development, within highly iterative, fast-paced agile environments.
* Demonstrated success in balancing hands-on execution with team enablement, comfortable context-switching between writing/reviewing code and handling people-management responsibilities.
* Strong business acumen to align engineering velocity with broader risk management, budget, and cost constraints.
* Practices ethical AI principles, including privacy, explainability, transparency, and bias mitigation.
* Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, with a deep understanding of OOD principles and design patterns; proficiency in .NET/C# (including .NET 8) is essential.
* Proficiency with modern front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, or Vue).
* Solid proficiency with relational databases and SQL, with proven experience in API development, ETL processes, and ensuring data integrity across interconnected enterprise platforms.
* Demonstrated understanding of modern CI/CD pipelines and best practices.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
