We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Preparer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and filing accurate and timely tax returns for individuals and businesses. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file individual and business tax returns (including 1040, 1120, 1065, 990, etc.)
  • Gather and organize client financial information, such as income statements, balance sheets, and supporting documentation.
  • Research and interpret tax laws and regulations.
  • Identify and resolve tax issues and discrepancies.
  • Advise clients on tax planning strategies and opportunities for tax savings.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all tax-related activities.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding tax matters in a professional and timely manner.
  • Stay current on all relevant tax laws and regulations through continuing education and professional development.
  • Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Enrolled Agent (EA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in tax preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in tax software (Onvio, Ultratax) and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ideally, exposure to the wealth management industry.

This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with an expectation of four days per week in the office. Candidates may be based out of either our White Plains, New York or Wilton, Connecticut office.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.
