This role serves as a key member of the Accounting and Tax Services team, ensuring client financial records are accurate, current, and organized throughout the year.
Working closely with clients and the firm's tax professionals, the Bookkeeper will maintain day-to-day accounting records, perform account reconciliations, prepare financial reports, and support tax planning and preparation efforts. This individual will play a critical role in delivering a high-quality client experience by ensuring financial information is timely, accurate, and readily available for decision-making and compliance purposes.
The ideal candidate must possess demonstrated experience managing full cycle bookkeeping functions. This role requires strong technical bookkeeping skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting procedures, and financial reporting. (5+ years)
- Experience managing full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ability to prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
- Experience performing bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Understanding of month-end and year-end close processes.
- Knowledge of payroll processing and related tax requirements.
- Experience maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requests.
- Ability to prepare financial reports, account summaries, and supporting schedules.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and resolve issues.
- Experience tracking budgets, expenses, and cash flow activity.
- Ability to maintain data integrity and ensure accuracy across financial systems.
- Proficiency with accounting and bookkeeping software.
- Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience utilizing technology to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new financial systems and platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Consistent follow-through on recurring financial processes and reporting requirements.
This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with an expectation of four days per week in the office. Candidates may be based out of either our White Plains, New York or Wilton, Connecticut office.
What We Offer
~1 min readThe anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000–$90,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities.
