A leading global audiobook and digital media company with a massive portfolio of content distributed across major consumer and library platforms. The organization operates sophisticated internal technology platforms that support content production, title management, and global distribution workflows.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer for a high-impact, two-month engagement (with the potential for extension) to accelerate the delivery of critical internal applications before the end of Q4. In this technically full-stack role—leaning heavily toward backend architecture (70%) with supplementary frontend contributions (30%)—you will focus on modernizing internal platforms that power voice-talent workflows and global title distribution. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments, possesses deep cloud-native backend expertise, and can quickly ramp up within an existing codebase to deliver immediate value alongside a distributed global engineering team.

  Design, develop, and maintain high-performing backend services using Python.

  Build and enhance microservice-based applications to support global content distribution workflows.

  Develop and integrate robust REST APIs connecting various internal enterprise systems.

  Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines utilizing AWS.

  Troubleshoot, debug, and improve the performance of existing backend production services.

  Contribute to frontend application development and user interface functionality as project demands require.

  Collaborate closely with an established global engineering organization to accelerate Q4 deliverables.

  Navigate an existing complex codebase rapidly to begin contributing within a short ramp-up window.

  Participate actively in code reviews, technical architectural discussions, and agile delivery planning.

• Strong professional senior-level software engineering experience focused primarily on Python backend development.

• Proven expertise in designing, building, and maintaining microservices architectures.

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud environments, specifically utilizing ECS, S3, CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.

• Extensive background in designing, developing, and securely consuming REST APIs.

• Strong foundational understanding of software architecture and scalable backend design principles.

• Ability to work independently, ramp up quickly, and deliver urgent value within existing production codebases.

• Excellent English communication skills to collaborate effectively with distributed global teams.

• Practical experience with modern frontend frameworks; JavaScript proficiency is expected, and hands-on experience with React is a strong plus.

• Previous experience working on media, publishing, content distribution, or marketplace platforms is preferred.

• Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices and cloud-native development environments is highly valued.

• Prior success joining short-term or high-urgency delivery projects is a distinct advantage.
