Programmable DNA, the software of Life, is finally here! Twist Bioscience is developing a disruptive Synthetic DNA technology that will change the world, enabling widespread health and sustainability. Synthetic biologists will use our products to engineer how organisms produce cures to diseases, make everyday chemicals by using the atmosphere as the carbon source, enable plants to make their own fertilizers, and to create in-vivo diagnostics that alert us when we are sick, and many more applications.
We are seeking an outstanding, innovative, and creative candidate to join Twist Biopharma as a Research Associate in Antibody Discovery and Engineering. This role will focus on characterizing lead antibodies via cell biology techniques while additionally contributing to antibody engineering and discovery projects through phage- and yeast-displayed antibody libraries
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Responsible for a range of cell-based lab work, including mammalian tissue culture, transfection, flow cytometry (FACS), and other functional assays. These tasks include wet-lab work of increasing complexity and independence, involving planning, execution, troubleshooting, and compiling results. This role includes preparing data, graphs, and reports, and communicating results to internal teams.
- →Contribute to our in vitro display technologies (e.g. phage display, ribosome display, and yeast display), molecular biology, biochemistry, and SPR. Direct experience in all of the technical areas above is preferred but not required.
- →Work collaboratively under aggressive timelines
- Your educational background includes a B.S in Cell/Molecular Biology, protein engineering, biological chemistry, or related discipline with minimum 1-year related work experience
- Mammalian tissue culture experience including propagation, freezing/thawing lines and transfection
- Flow cytometry experience including multi-color immunostaining
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work as an individual contributor and as a team
Nice to Have:
- Molecular biology experience including plasmid DNA purification, sub-cloning, and PCR
