Senior Engineer - Instrument & Control Systems

As part of our Fuels & Energy East business, you'll join a highly experienced engineering team supporting some of Australia's most critical fuel storage and terminal infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer - Instrument & Control Systems to provide technical leadership and deliver engineering solutions across operational fuel terminals, hazardous area facilities and brownfield asset improvement projects. Based in Melbourne or Brisbane, you'll play a key role in the design, delivery, commissioning and ongoing support of critical energy infrastructure.

Reporting to the Lead E&I Engineer, the Senior Engineer - Instrument & Control Systems will be responsible for delivering safe, compliant and fit-for-purpose engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of Oil & Gas, fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.

• →Deliver Instrumentation, Control and Electrical engineering solutions across fuel terminal and energy infrastructure projects.
• →Develop and review engineering deliverables including control system architectures, instrumentation specifications, datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams and commissioning documentation.
• →Support brownfield upgrades and modifications across PLC, SCADA, automation and safety systems.
• →Provide technical input across project phases including tendering, design, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• →Review vendor documentation, evaluate technical bids and support FAT and SAT activities.
• →Provide engineering troubleshooting support to operating assets and terminal operations teams.
• →Ensure design compliance with applicable Australian Standards, hazardous area requirements and client specifications.
• →Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, project delivery and asset management teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

We are seeking an experienced and solutions-focused engineering professional who enjoys working in complex operational environments and delivering practical outcomes for critical infrastructure assets.

You will bring:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering.
• 10+ years' experience delivering Instrumentation and Control engineering solutions within Oil & Gas, fuel terminals, petrochemical, resources or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong experience in brownfield engineering, construction and commissioning projects.
• Working knowledge of PLC, SCADA and industrial automation systems.
• Experience developing and reviewing Instrumentation and Control engineering deliverables and technical documentation.
• Understanding of hazardous area requirements, Australian Standards and industry best practice.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to support site activities including commissioning, troubleshooting and operational support.
• CPEng, RPEQ, RPEV and Hazardous Area qualifications will be highly regarded.
