Completion of secondary education is required. Technical or university courses related to the work of the organization are an asset.


Work experience
A minimum of six years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience is required. Experience in related functional areas such as Information, Media & Public Relations Support; Protective & Security Services; Executive, Secretarial & Office Support is an asset. Prior experience in an emergency or security operations center is a strong asset.


The following technical competencies are considered strong assets for this role: client-oriented communication skills; real-time monitoring platform expertise; ability to assess and synthesize complex information into high-quality, digestible written products in English under tight deadlines; foundational proficiency in data visualization tools; and familiarity with digital dashboards and emergency coordination platforms.


Language Proficiency
Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in another official UN language - Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish - is highly desirable.


Eligibility
• Open to UNICEF staff members holding Fixed-Term, Permanent or Continuing appointments.
• Supervisor’s agreement is required to apply and for any eventual release.
• The staff member should be able to start the assignment on 1 September 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter, subject to confirmation.
• The staff member should be available to undertake the 16-day in-person period in Rome, including travel days, onboarding and training.

Funding arrangement
This is a temporary development assignment and the candidate’s current post and grade will not change. No additional payments will be made other than those related to approved travel (economy class) and DSA at 50% for the 16-day in-person period in Rome, when applicable and subject to confirmation of the funding source/WBS and Director approval for the hybrid arrangement. The remainder of the assignment will be performed remotely from the successful applicant’s duty station.
