Guided by UNICEF’s rights- and results-based management standards, this stretch assignment will support the Resource Mobilization team in producing high-quality, results based donor reports and proposals; managing partnerships; and supporting contribution management processes. On average, the Country Office prepares 140–180 donor reports annually, in addition to proposals and concept notes, briefing and advocacy materials, grant extensions and other contribution amendments, human-interest stories and ad hoc products.

Under the supervision of the Resource Mobilization Specialist, the incumbent will support the timely delivery of high-quality donor reports and proposals, effective partnership management and sound contribution management, working closely with programme sections, field offices, Budget and Finance, Communication and Advocacy, and other relevant teams.

The purpose of the stretch is to coordinate the timely delivery of high-quality donor reports and proposals, effective partnership management and sound contribution management, working closely with programme sections, field offices, Budget and Finance, Communication and Advocacy, and other relevant teams.

Lead the coordination, quality assurance and timely submission of donor reports by:

  • Maintaining the donor-reporting schedule and providing programme sections and
    field offices with timely guidance on deadlines, templates, donor conditions and
    internal clearance requirements.
  • Coordinating, compiling, editing and quality-assuring narrative reports to ensure clear,
    results-based reporting aligned with contribution agreements, approved proposals
    and donor requirements.
  • Liaising with Budget and Finance colleagues to ensure consistency between narrative
    and financial reporting, including accurate explanations of expenditure, balances and
    implementation rates.
  • Coordinating with Communication and Advocacy colleagues to include appropriate
    human-interest stories, communication results and donor recognition and visibility
    information.
  • Managing internal review, clearance and submission through Fiori, and coordinating
    timely responses to donor feedback and requests for revision.

Support the development and finalization of donor proposals by:

  • Coordinating inputs and providing quality assurance for proposals, concept notes and other funding submissions in collaboration with programme sections and relevant operational teams, including ensuring coherence among the narrative, results framework and budget, and alignment with donor requirements, UNICEF priorities and approved templates.
  • Working with Communication and Advocacy colleagues to incorporate appropriate donor recognition and visibility plans. 
  • Maintaining the proposal pipeline and following up on outstanding inputs, reviews, donor feedback and submission requirements. 

Specialist in managing and strengthening partner relationships by:

  • Maintaining current partner profiles, engagement records and information on donor priorities, funding trends and emerging opportunities.
  • Preparing donor-facing products, including briefing notes, presentations, donor updates, funding-gap analyses and other partnership materials.
  • Coordinating preparations for donor meetings, programme reviews, field visits and missions, including agendas, talking points, minutes and follow-up actions.
  • Coordinating timely responses to donor queries and tracking actions agreed with partners and internal team

Support the effective management of contributions throughout the grant lifecycle by :

  • Reviewing contribution agreements and communicating key reporting, visibility, payment and implementation obligations to relevant teams.
  • Coordinating requests for no-cost extensions and other amendments, including revisions to budgets, results frameworks, reporting schedules and tranche arrangements.
  • Tracking amendment requests and supporting complete documentation for grant start-up, implementation monitoring and close-out

  • Excellent interpersonal skills - culturally and socially sensitive, ability to work inclusively and collaboratively at different levels.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment and in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision and to work to tight deadlines.

Funding arrangement
This is a temporary development opportunity and there will be no changes to the staff member’s status (position number, level, etc.).

The Office will cover the ticket for economy class travel and 100% of the UN DSA rate during the first two weeks and 50% DSA for the remaining time.
