UNICEF’s Caribbean Multi-Country Office (MCO) serves twelve English- and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. As part of UNICEF's Future Focus Initiative, the Caribbean MCO brings together policy influence, technical expertise and strategic partnerships to advance results for children across the region through one integrated programme, one management structure and a shared pool of resources. The Multi-Country Programme 2027-2031 focuses on three shared outcomes: equitable access to primary health care, learning and skills; protection of children from all forms of violence; and child poverty reduction and resilience strengthening.
About the Role
~2 min read- Education: A University Degree in human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or another related field is required.
- Work Experience: One year of professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation is required. A background in supporting large-scale organizational transitions and/or organizational change within complex or restructured environments will be a distinct advantage. Experience applying HR policies and procedures to sensitive or complex cases, in organizations of a significant size, requiring strong soft skills to coordinate and persuade, and sound judgement, is desirable. Experience in a similar P&C role across geographically dispersed duty stations is an asset.
- Required Skills:
- Ability to adapt swiftly and operate effectively within newly established teams or evolving organizational structures.
- Capacity to build and sustain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, communicate persuasively at all levels, and adapt fluidly to evolving contexts and demands.
- Basic knowledge of the principles and concepts of human resources management.
- Ability to identify issues, conduct rigorous research, and make conclusions and recommendations.
- Strong research, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of information technology systems and tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a diverse organization tailoring language, tone, style and format to match audience.
- Ability to empathize with client managers, supervisors and staff while advocating for consistent and equitable applications of promulgated HR regulations and rules.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset
- Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
