The Organizational Setting
The Office of Internal Oversight (OIO) is an independent office responsible for the systematic evaluation and internal audit of ICAO's programmes, projects, and activities, with a view to assessing whether the Organization's stated objectives and impacts have been achieved, and resources have been expended in accordance with applicable rules and regulations and with due regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness. The Office provides an annual report of its evaluations and internal audits to the ICAO Council.
Evaluation function is mainly focused on assessing the relevance, coherence, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and sustainability of programmes and activities against established plans and objectives. Internal Audit function is focused on providing assurance and advisory services on the effectiveness of governance, risk management processes and internal controls. Both functions aim to promote accountability, organizational learning and enhancements in policies, strategies, programmes, processes, functions and systems. Terms of reference
Under the general guidance of the Chief, Office of Internal Oversight (C/OIO), the interns will support the OIO team with ongoing Evaluation and Audit assignments. OIO Staff members may provide direct input and guidance to the work of the interns.
The interns will be expected to:
- Support team members in specific audit and evaluation assignments.
- Undertake specific research, studies and reviews, as assigned.
- Assist with data collection and analysis for audit and evaluation projects.
- Support the preparation of audit and evaluation reports, findings, and recommendations.
- Consolidate oversight recommendations from various internal/external audits and evaluation reports.
- Coordinate meetings with stakeholders, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and minute-taking.
- Help maintain documentation and working papers according to professional standards.
- Support the desk review of documentation and design, launching and follow-up of surveys.
- Perform other duties as required.

Requirements
~1 min read- Experience in the area of auditing, evaluations, monitoring, programmes or operations is an asset.
Essential requirements: Fluent reading, writing and speaking abilities in English.
Desirable requirements: A working knowledge of a second language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
Conditions of Internship
Interns will receive a stipend. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by the intern.
The duration of the internship is between three to twelve months, with a firm maximum of twelve months. The intern is expected to work five days a week, on a full-time basis.
Interns shall not be eligible to be engaged in any other form of employment within ICAO during the period of internship.
Interns have the obligation to carry out duties assigned to them with loyalty, discretion and conscience and will act in accordance with the relevant official instructions issued by the Organization.
