The Assistant Director of Admissions plays an important role in supporting recruitment and enrollment initiatives for both graduate and undergraduate programs at the Daniels College of Business. This position serves as a key ambassador for the College, advising prospective students, participating in admissions evaluation, and supporting events and engagement initiatives that help prospective students understand the value of a Daniels business education.

For graduate programs, the Assistant Director actively supports recruitment and admissions processes, working directly with prospective students from inquiry through matriculation. For undergraduate programs, the role partners closely with the University of Denver’s central Office of Admission by supporting college-level recruitment efforts, participating in university-sponsored events, and engaging admitted students to strengthen yield for Daniels business majors. Assistant Directors may also assume leadership responsibility for specific recruitment domains or program portfolios—including undergraduate engagement or graduate program areas such as MS or MBA programs—depending on team structure and strategic enrollment priorities.

The Assistant Director collaborates closely with admissions leadership, marketing and events teams, program directors, and university enrollment partners to help achieve the College’s enrollment goals while ensuring an excellent experience for prospective students and applicants.

Graduate Recruitment and Admissions

  • The Assistant Director supports recruitment and admissions for the Daniels College of Business graduate portfolio, including MBA, specialized master’s programs, and certificates. The role serves as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing consultation on program options, admissions criteria, and application preparation.
  • The Assistant Director manages relationships with prospective students throughout the admissions process, conducts admissions interviews when appropriate, and evaluates applications as part of the admissions review process. The role contributes recommendations regarding admissions decisions and scholarship considerations while helping ensure that incoming classes meet the College’s academic quality and program objectives.
  • The Assistant Director participates in recruitment activities designed to expand awareness of Daniels graduate programs, including information sessions, webinars, recruiting fairs, and other outreach initiatives. The role also contributes to identifying new markets and recruitment strategies based on enrollment data and market trends.

Undergraduate Recruitment Partnership

  • In support of Daniels undergraduate enrollment goals, the Assistant Director collaborates closely with the University’s central Office of Admission. While the central admissions office manages prospective student outreach and application processing, this role represents the Daniels College of Business at recruitment and yield events designed to engage prospective and admitted students interested in studying business.
  • The Assistant Director participates in university-sponsored admissions events, including information sessions, campus visit programs, and admitted student events. The role works with the Undergraduate Programs office to help communicate the value of a Daniels business degree, answer program-specific questions, and connect prospective students with relevant resources.
  • The Assistant Director may also assist with targeted outreach initiatives designed to strengthen enrollment of business majors, including partnerships with community colleges, engagement with admitted students, and participation in yield-focused communications and events.

Recruitment Events and Outreach

  • The Assistant Director supports the planning and execution of recruitment and yield events for both graduate and undergraduate audiences. Working with admissions colleagues and the marketing team, the role helps deliver information sessions, webinars, campus visits, and other engagement initiatives designed to inform and attract prospective students.
  • The role may also assist in training and coordinating student ambassadors who support campus visits and prospective student events.

Enrollment Data and Strategy

  • The Assistant Director monitors admissions pipelines and recruitment outcomes, reviewing enrollment data to identify trends and opportunities for improving recruitment effectiveness. The role contributes to admissions strategy discussions by providing insights related to applicant behavior, recruitment activities, and market demand.
  • Working with the admissions team, the Assistant Director helps evaluate recruitment initiatives and recommend improvements designed to strengthen the applicant pool and increase enrollment conversion.

Collaboration and Portfolio Flexibility

  • Assistant Directors work collaboratively as a team to support the recruitment, evaluation, and enrollment of students across the Daniels College of Business undergraduate and graduate program portfolio. While each Assistant Director may develop areas of specialization aligned with specific programs, markets, or stages of the admissions funnel, all team members contribute to shared enrollment goals and may support multiple programs as needs evolve. Responsibilities may shift over time to align with program priorities, recruitment strategies, and enrollment objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–3 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, student services, marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to represent the Daniels College of Business professionally to prospective students and stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree or graduate coursework in business, education, or a related field.
  • Experience working in higher education admissions or recruitment.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Slate.
  • Familiarity with the higher education student lifecycle from prospect through enrollment.
