The Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs Office of Enrollment, Marketing and Communications is responsible for the full cycle recruitment, admissions, and yield of graduate students. The office manages recruitment activities, application processing, application review, and scholarship coordination from inquiry through enrollment, in close collaboration with the University of Denver Office of Graduate Enrollment and other central partners.

In addition, the office works in partnership with the DU Office of Undergraduate Admissions to recruit and yield undergraduate students to Korbel majors and minors. This includes shared responsibility for recruitment events, outreach activities, and student engagement during peak undergraduate recruitment periods.

The Korbel Marketing and Communications unit supports both graduate and undergraduate enrollment needs and is responsible for all paid, earned, and organic content across web and social platforms. The team also leads internal communications for the Korbel School.

The Associate Director of Graduate Enrollment and Scholarships leads graduate recruitment and admissions operations and manages scholarship and financial aid strategy. This role owns admissions policy, application review, scholarship awarding, and coordination with the Office of Graduate Enrollment.

  • Leads graduate recruitment strategy and admissions operations from inquiry through enrollment, including outreach planning, application review, decision coordination, and yield activities.
  • Leads the graduate admissions application review process, ensuring consistent holistic review practices and timely decision making.
  • Manages, creates, and enforces graduate admissions policies and procedures and coordinates all application related processes with the Office of Graduate Enrollment.
  • Leads graduate financial aid policy, procedures, and management, including managing tuition discount, and endowed scholarship awarding and administration.
  • Develops and executes financial aid and scholarship awarding strategies to support yield, access, and revenue objectives.
  • Supports and responds to admissions and financial aid inquiries, resolving complex cases with discretion.
  • Represents Korbel academic programs at external recruitment fairs, events, and initiatives.
  • Supervises admissions staff and manages operational workflows.
  • Drives and coordinates admitted student and yield programming, including evenings and weekends as required.
  • Extensive understanding of enrollment and recruitment practices in higher education, including graduate admissions processes and funnel management techniques needed to successfully convert inquiries into applicants and applicants into enrolled students, as well as familiarity with undergraduate recruitment cycles where applicable.
  • Experienced knowledge of institutional graduate financial aid policies and practices, including tuition discounting and scholarship administration, and the strategic application of financial aid to support enrollment, yield, and net tuition revenue goals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing and executing market responsive recruitment, marketing, and communications strategies aligned with enrollment goals and institutional priorities.
  • Proven experience leading or contributing to high functioning teams and collaborating effectively across complex organizations.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and solve complex operational challenges.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, and institutional partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five or more years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, or financial aid.
  • Direct experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Experience working with individuals from inclusive backgrounds.
  • Experience developing and managing partnerships that support recruitment, enrollment, or student success initiatives.
  • Experience with international admissions processes, including familiarity with visa related requirements and timelines.
  • Experience planning or supporting recruitment and yield events, including event marketing and outreach strategy.
  • Familiarity with enrollment or financial aid practices in a global or international education context.
