About the Role
~1 min readThe Senior Immunisation Advisor (NSW) is responsible for ensuring staff and students across UTAS Health comply with pre- placement jurisdictional specific vaccination and screening policy requirements. The incumbent provides high level guidance and advice to staff, students and partners to ensure students meet these requirements. This is an autonomous position with travel required between relevant campuses in NSW and Tasmania. This position contributes to the delivery of UTAS Health’s strategic and operational plans, playing a key role in students’ experience of a high-quality Professional Experience Placement (PEP).
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the immunisation guidelines, health policies and public health alerts impacting placements and promptly alert students and staff of potential risks.
- →Review and provide expert advice on vaccination records pertaining to all students who undertake PEP locally, nationally and internationally.
- →Maintain student vaccination compliance data within the University’s placement management system (InPlace), and ensure students’ vaccination records reflect vaccination, screening and serological evidence.
- →Collaborate with Health staff to implement and review procedural guidelines and communications related to infectious diseases and vaccination.
- →Provide guidance and expert opinion to staff members and relevant healthcare professionals, to ensure students are compliant.
- Bachelor’s degree, an Immunisation for Registered Nurses course, and recent employment as a Registered Nurse with evidence of current Registration with AHPRA.
- High-level administration and organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and a proven capacity to build productive relationships with staff and students.
- Demonstrated experience with policy development and implementation, including reviewing administrative systems, processes and procedures to ensure quality outcomes.
- Experience working in a university environment, navigating complex multi‑campus operations, and using student placement management systems.
- NSW Working with Children Check.
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 7 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $130,943 pro rata comprising base salary within the range of $101,821 to $111,917 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
