About the Role

We are seeking experienced HR professionals to explore both ongoing and fixed-term opportunities within our team.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a senior business partnering role, where you will work closely with leaders to address complex people challenges, influence decision-making, and deliver impactful workforce strategies.

You will bring strong HR expertise, sound judgement, and the confidence to partner at a senior level—balancing strategic thinking with practical, outcomes-focused advice.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to design and deliver workforce strategies aligned to business priorities
  • Provide trusted advice on complex employee relations and industrial matters
  • Coach and uplift leader capability to strengthen people management practices
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance organisational culture, engagement, and ways of working
  • Collaborate across People & Wellbeing and specialist teams to deliver integrated, cohesive solutions

These roles come at a pivotal time, following a significant People and Wellbeing transformation, offering the opportunity to contribute to a contemporary and forward-looking workplace relations function.

Opportunities are available on both an ongoing and fixed-term (including parental leave cover) basis. Flexible working arrangements are supported, with remote options available for fixed-term appointments, alongside location-flexible and Tasmanian-based roles.

You are an experienced HR professional who can operate confidently in a complex environment and build strong, trusted relationships.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring:

  • Significant experience in HR business partnering or senior HR advisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment and industrial relations frameworks
  • Proven capability managing complex employee relations matters
  • Advanced stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
  • Experience coaching leaders and building capability
  • Ability to use data and insight to inform decisions
  • Sound judgement and risk management in sensitive matters

Experience in higher education is desirable but not essential.

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 8 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $152,033, comprising base salary within the range of $114,282 to $129,943 plus 17% superannuation.
