Longwood Gardens is seeking part-time Guest Services Associates to join our Guest Engagement team. Individuals in this position will be responsible for actively providing hospitality, operational support, and ensuring the well-being of our guests by offering guest engagement year-round. Areas include, but are not limited to displays, events, shows, and talks. Responsibilities include: 

  • Proactive interaction with guests and co-workers using Longwood Gardens standards of hospitality
  • Supporting events both indoors and outdoors, which includes but is not limited to hosting coat checks, answering questions, assisting guests with wayfinding, driving the garden golf cart shuttles, supporting event photography sessions and supporting the overall logistics of the event. 
  • Monitoring and preparing assigned areas for guest readiness, including operational tasks such as placing signage, providing wayfinding, and managing crowd control during busy visitation periods 
  • Operating the garden golf cart shuttles and vehicles
  • Identifying, reporting, and responding to safety concerns in accordance with Longwood policy 
  • Participating in training sessions and meetings to gain knowledge for effectively interacting with guests 

This is a part-time, year-round (not seasonal) role that will begin in June 2026. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Schedules are built around business needs, which vary seasonally. Depending on the time of year, the majority of hours may fall on evenings, weekends, and holidays, with a yearly average of 20 hours per week.

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • The ability to independently deliver exceptional customer service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills 
  • Comfort with proactively approaching guests offering help in a friendly and respectful manner
  • A valid driver’s license 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 
  • Professional demeanor 
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
