GARDEN SHOP RETAIL LEAD

Longwood Gardens is seeking a part-time Garden Shop Retail Lead to assist in overseeing the daily operation of The Garden Shop. Responsibilities include:

• Opening and reconciling register tills, cash handling, conduct training, and floor supervision shifts
• Maintaining visual presentations of the Shop, and support daily tasks such as cleaning, store recovery/replenishment, plant care, and merchandise placement
• Resolving guest issues in a timely manner providing informed guidance and support
• Assisting in monitoring plant health to ensure maximum quality
• Willingness to learn plant nomenclature, cultural requirements, and identifying and addressing insect and disease issues
• Performing all duties of a retail associate

The schedule varies and requires working a minimum average of 20 hours per week including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of one-year experience working in retail sales
• Exceptional customer service, communication, and hospitality skills
• General plant knowledge is a plus, but not required
• Thea ability to stand for long periods of time, lifting of up to 40 pounds, and occasionally working in outdoor area
