About the Role

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive support to the VP of People and Culture, contributing to a wide range of human resources initiatives. This role is instrumental in fostering a strong, values-driven culture, using data to inform decisions, and continuously improving HR processes and programs. The HR Generalist will proactively leverage internal resources, enhance operational efficiency, and help create an engaging, high-performing workplace. Key areas of focus include onboarding and offboarding, recruitment coordination, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and employee engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and reflect the organization’s mission and values in all employee and candidate interactions. 
  • Support the VP of People and Culture with administrative priorities, including maintaining accurate HR records, systems, and documentation. 
  • Contribute to building and sustaining a “best place to work” culture through thoughtful, inclusive, and engaging initiatives. 
  • Apply a data-informed approach to HR practices, generating insights and metrics to support decision-making and continuous improvement. 
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen and streamline HR processes, systems, and policies for greater efficiency and impact. 
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience. 
  • Support full-cycle recruitment efforts, including candidate coordination and interview logistics. 
  • Partner cross-functionally and seek out internal expertise to enhance HR initiatives and organizational effectiveness. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute training sessions, presentations, and HR-related events. 
  • Organize employee engagement activities, including staff meetings, recognition programs, and team-building events. 
  • Administer and coordinate performance management cycles, including tracking progress, reporting, and supporting promotions and compensation processes. 
  • Respond to employee inquiries with professionalism, discretion, and a strong customer-service mindset. 
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and integrity across HR systems and processes. 
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable employment laws and internal policies. 
  • Support employee relations matters, including documentation and coordination of related processes. 
  • Contribute to the development and annual update of the employee handbook, policies, and HR programs. 
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity of all HR data and information. 
  • Adapt quickly to shifting priorities and support additional HR initiatives as needed. 

Requirements

  • Passion for the organization’s mission and a commitment to building a strong workplace culture. 
  • Bachelor’s degree. 
  • 5+ years of HR experience, including employee relations, culture initiatives, and recruitment. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and insights to inform decisions and improve processes. 
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong emotional intelligence. 
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. 
  • Experience engaging with employees at all levels while delivering a high standard of service.
