As a Medium Density Designer at Simonds, you will play a key role in delivering and evolving our national medium density product offering, from concept through to construction. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and developers, you will ensure designs are innovative, buildable and aligned to market needs.
This is a full-time role based at our new Collins Square office in the Docklands.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and delivery of medium density projects, ensuring compliance, quality and consistency
- Coordinating new product ranges, including concept plans, façades and frontages
- Reviewing and refining designs to ensure buildability and practical outcomes
- Collaborating with stakeholders to drive innovation, improve efficiencies and reduce costs
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to inform product development
- Supporting the timely and accurate delivery of design documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement across design processes and workflows
You are an experienced designer with a strong background in medium density residential projects and a passion for creating well considered, market leading homes.
You will bring:
- Proven experience in medium density design, with strong technical and construction knowledge
- Advanced design and drafting skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Solid understanding of relevant codes and regulations, including Small Lot Housing Code and ResCode
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skill
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across teams and influence outcomes
- A balance of creative thinking and practical problem solving
- Relevant drafting and design qualifications, with an architectural degree and ARBV registration highly regarded
