The Medical Coordinator coordinates appropriate health services, including urgent, emergent, and preventative health services for children across all Refugio Urban Strategies programs. This includes maintaining complete, confidential medical records for children, ensuring appropriate communication of health needs to case managers and clinicians, scheduling health care appointments, coordinating transportation to health care appointments, ensuring qualified interpretation and translation services are in place, and serving as liaison for community health providers.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, health administration or direct clinical care AND
Any of the following:
Licensed practical or vocational nurse (LPN/LVN) or higher health-related qualification (e.g., licensed registered nurse (RN) with a bachelor’s degree), OR Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Demonstrated experience developing medical protocols, auditing compliance, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams
Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, CDC guidelines, ORR medical standards
Organizational leadership, systems-building, and project management
Excellent communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluent, written, and verbal
Clean criminal background check & CAN check
Must be able to travel to program sites as needed
Must be 21 or older

3 years of employment in public health or healthcare setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination ,health administration or direct clinical care.
Experience working in ORR shelter.
