Position Overview:
Help develop and coordinate grassroots legislative and political activities in the six Great Lakes states: Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with members of Congress and their district, state, and Hill staff.
Develop, sustain, and deepen relationships with state, regional, and local chambers.
Engage in the political process, including supporting the Chamber’s political endorsement efforts.
Represent the Chamber and frequently provide remarks at meetings and events throughout the region and in Washington D.C.
Conduct outreach to Chamber members to enhance the legislative agenda and provide membership services.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with other teams throughout the Chamber, including Government Affairs, Policy, Communications, Political Affairs, and state and local/Federation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years’ experience working in a congressional office, lobbying, working on a campaign, or engaging in a similar environment.
Political or legislative connections in one or more of the Great Lakes states.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
Able to travel up to 50% of the time.
The salary range for this position is $83,498.00 to $100,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
