Location: 1307 S. 900 W. SLC | Schedule: Monday - Friday (on-site) | Type: Part-Time | FLSA: Non-Exempt

Are you a persuasive storyteller who can turn a great mission into a winning proposal? Join us as a Grant Writer and help connect meaningful community work with the funding that makes it possible. Reporting to the Chief Impact & Strategy Officer, you'll uncover new opportunities, strengthen relationships with funders, and collaborate with our Development Team to bring high-impact programs and events to life.

• →Research local, state, and federal grants, business partnerships, philanthropic relationships, and other public and private funding opportunities.
• →Match promising funding opportunities to specific community needs.
• →Craft, build, and submit compelling grant applications in a variety of writing styles.
• →Submit grant reports and keep the development calendar organized and on track.
• →Use post-award grant management practices to strengthen future grant design and development.
• →Build and sustain strong, ethical relationships with funders.
• →Support organizational development related to grant seeking.
• →Use data, initiative, practical thinking, and persistence to move ideas forward.
• →Bring programs and community impact to life through evocative storytelling.
• →Attend community meetings and trainings.
• →Partner with the Development Team on volunteer and special events, including sponsorship and donation requests.
• →Represent the organization professionally and respond thoughtfully to families from varied economic and ethnic backgrounds.
• →Stay highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and accountable.

• Show up consistently, maintain good attendance, and meet timelines and deadlines.
• Communicate and conduct yourself professionally, take direction, and communicate in English.
• Collaborate, cooperate, and participate as part of a team while owning your work with accountability and responsibility.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Stay flexible as demands and expectations change, and contribute to the team's success.
• Pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, sex offender registry check, child abuse/neglect check, and meet all Head Start Health requirements.
• Follow Utah Community Action personnel policies outlined in the Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

• Maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment in this position
• Be prepared to use your personal vehicle for agency-related transportation when needed

• Bachelor's degree in English, Public Administration, or a similar field
• Basic accounting knowledge for preparing grant budgets
• Confident command of different writing styles

• Two or more years of experience as a Grant Writer or in a similar role
