We are looking for a Health & Safety Specialist to join our growing Team!

Responsibilities

→Create and implement safety plans/programs in accordance with OSHA Standards.
→Train employees in worksite safety practices by promoting and leading a site culture where safety is ingrained as a core value.
→Perform safety inspections of the production floor.
→Perform audits of the written safety program.
→Investigates accidents and near misses. Provides corrective actions.
→Perform JSA and LOTO assessments.
→Trains new employees on JSA for their respective areas.
→Maintain chemical inventory list.
→Ensure SDS sheets are current and up to date for all departments in IQS.
→Evaluate and assign all annual safety training needs for all VEGA employees.
→Manage Safety Skills platform
→Maintain OSHA 300A log, report electronically through OSHA annually.
→Monitor subcontractors’ safety and compliance.
→Prepare and present reports on safety metrics.
→Ensure that employees consistently follow safety protocols.
→Coordinate and run the emergency response team.
→Manage direct seller PPE kits, Respirator Program.
→Manage hearing conservation program.
→Assist with annual fire and severe weather drills
→Manage UniFirst first aid and safety cabinets.
→Ensure all training is kept up to date for lift truck drivers, ERT, Respirators, Hearing conservation, etc.)

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety or related field
3+ years of related experience
or a combination of education and experience related to the position
OSHA 30 Certification
