Construction Safety Specialist
Ridgefield, NJ | Full-Time | Starting Mid-October 2026
Compliance Management International (CMI) is hiring an experienced Construction Safety Specialist for a construction project in Ridgefield, NJ, starting mid-October 2026.
We’re looking for a hands-on EHS/Safety Professional with 5+ years of construction safety experience and a strong MEP background—either working directly in the mechanical, electrical, or plumbing trades or providing safety oversight for MEP contractors and activities.
What You’ll Do
- Provide daily construction safety / EHS oversight for contractors and subcontractors
- Conduct jobsite inspections, safety audits, hazard assessments, and observations
- Review JHAs/JSAs, Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), permits, toolbox talks, and safety documentation
- Coach contractors and trades on OSHA compliance and safe work practices
- Oversee MEP, electrical safety, NFPA 70E, LOTO, fall protection, scaffolding, confined space, hot work, excavation, cranes, rigging, and material handling
- Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and drive corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926, client requirements, and site-specific safety programs
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of construction safety experience
- MEP experience required — either hands-on trade experience or direct safety oversight of mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing work
- Strong knowledge of OSHA 1926 construction standards
- Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED
- Strong hazard recognition, communication, coaching, and field leadership skills
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require
- Reliable transportation
- Preferred: CHST, STS-C, ASP, CSP, OSHA 500, NFPA 70E, or a safety/EHS-related degree
