Senior NAVAIDS Technician - Balad (USN)

Seeking a full-time professional in Iraq supporting a Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) Maintenance & Repair Support project. This position supports 24/7 aviation operations in a deployed environment and ensures safe, efficient, and compliant airfield operations while supporting mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, calibrate, repair, and certify NAVAIDS systems including ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME, NDB, airfield beacons, and associated communications interfaces.
- →Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with FAA, ICAO, DoD, OEM, and contract requirements.
- →Conduct diagnostics, performance testing, alignment, calibration, and fault isolation of NAVAIDS equipment and subsystems.
- →Analyze technical data, schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to identify and correct system deficiencies.
- →Perform system commissioning, acceptance testing, and operational verification following maintenance activities.
- →Monitor equipment performance and recommend repairs, upgrades, or replacement actions to maintain operational readiness.
- →Maintain detailed maintenance records, inspection reports, calibration data, and configuration documentation.
- →Coordinate maintenance activities with Airfield Management, Operations, ATC, and other stakeholders.
- →Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and assist with workforce training.
- →Respond to emergency outages and restore critical NAVAIDS systems within required response timelines.
- →Ensure compliance with electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), environmental, and quality control requirements.
- →Support airfield operational readiness inspections and mission support activities.
Requirements

- Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date.
- Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from the wheels-up deployment date to the site.
- Must satisfy and maintain all medical screening requirements.
- Ability to perform essential job duties in a deployed environment.
- Associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent formal training in Avionics, Electronics, Communications, Electrical Systems, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience maintaining and repairing NAVAIDS systems.
- Hands-on experience with ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME, NDB, airfield beacons, and related navigation systems.
- Technical certification in avionics, electronics, communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience performing calibration, alignment, troubleshooting, and fault isolation of electronic navigation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and OEM documentation.
- Experience using electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related diagnostic tools.
- Experience supporting aviation, military airfield, FAA, ICAO, or DoD operations.
- Experience supervising or mentoring technicians preferred.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs as required.
