Compensation: $21.60 - 23.50 an hour, DOE

Job Summary

The Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of finished pallets from the bagging machine and onto the pallet wrapper, and properly storing them for shipment. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the flow of finished products from production to storage, ensuring accurate inventory management and adherence to safety protocols.

Essential Job Functions

• Transport finished pallets into the storage warehouses using a forklift

• Wrap all finished pallets securely and place them in designated storage areas

• Maintain accurate counts and inventory of products entering storage areas

• Ensure proper housekeeping in the work area

• Comply with all safety rules and company policies

• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently

• Assist in organizing the storage area for optimal space utilization

• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors

• Collaborate with production and shipping teams to ensure smooth product flow

• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Ability to complete P.I.T. Forklift certification (provided by the company)

• Physical capability to maintain a fast pace for up to 3 hours continuously

• Basic math skills for inventory counting

• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Bilingual in English and Spanish

• Previous warehouse or material handling experience

• Familiarity with inventory management systems

• Basic computer skills for data entry

• Forklift certification

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in a warehouse environment within a food processing facility. The role involves infrequent movement, sitting for extended periods, and exposure to cold temperatures. Forklift Drivers must be comfortable working around moving machinery and in a fast-paced environment. The job will require lifting and maneuvering heavy loads using motorized forklifts. Shift work may be necessary, including potential early morning, evening, or weekend shifts to meet production and shipping schedules. Safety is a top priority, requiring strict adherence to all safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
