WB Melback Corporation is a wholly Canadian owned company with headquarters based in Haileybury, Ontario with job sites all over the country. WB Melback Corporation provides Mechanical Maintenance and Industrial Construction Services to Forestry and Mining sectors across Canada.

We are currently seeking a Cost Control Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary
Responsible for supporting project financial management through cost tracking, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. Ensures project costs are accurately monitored and reported, supporting project managers in maintaining budgets, identifying variances, and improving cost efficiency across industrial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Tracking: Monitor and track project costs, commitments, and expenditures
• Budget Management: Assist in the development, maintenance, and tracking of project budgets
• Forecasting: Prepare cost forecasts and update project financial projections
• Reporting: Generate regular cost reports, variance analyses, and project financial summaries
• Invoice & Commitment Review: Review purchase orders, invoices, and subcontractor costs for accuracy
• Data Management: Maintain accurate cost records and project financial data
• Coordination: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and accounting departments
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and reporting standards
• Problem Solving: Identify cost discrepancies and support corrective actions

Requirements & Assets:

• Experience in cost control, project controls, accounting, construction finance, or a related field
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
• Ability to work with large data sets while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial project environment

The following experience and qualifications are considered assets:

• Experience in construction, mining, forestry, or industrial project environments
• Experience with SAP, ERP systems, or project cost tracking software
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Bilingualism (English/French)

Location: Temiskaming Shores, Ontario

Work Type: On Site

Hours:
10-hour shifts (30-minute unpaid lunch)

Compensation:
$45.00 – $70.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
