This is a Temporary Part-Time position (up to one year)  Type: New Position!   This job is funded out of the Women’s College Hospital Breakthrough Challenge. We are working on a project that evaluates the use of infrared thermal imaging (IRT) to objectively visualize inflammation and itch in common dermatologic conditions, addressing limitations of visual assessment and subjective reporting—especially in patients with skin of colour. In a 12-month study of 220 adults, thermal imaging will be compared with patient-reported itch and standard clinical scoring systems to assess diagnostic alignment, patient understanding, engagement, and satisfaction. By making inflammation visible regardless of skin tone, the study aims to improve equity, support shared decision-making, and demonstrate a scalable, patient-centered approach to dermatologic care.   Summary of Duties, but not limited to:   Perform standardized clinical imaging procedures in ambulatory care setting, ensure image quality, consistency and adherence to study protocols Recruit participants in person and obtain informed consent Responsible for quality-check, and organizing clinical imaging data to support downstream analysis and interpretation Assist with manuscript perpetration and submission as well as knowledge translation activities, including creation of tables, figures, posters, presentations and other dissemination materials. Work within clinical care environments to coordinate imaging and research activities with clinical staff while minimizing disruption to patient care Demonstrate ability to exercises sound clinical judgement and professionalism when interacting. With esrsearch participants in sensitive clinical contexts Some understanding of research design and research ethics Responsible for conducting telephone, online, or in-person recruitment interviews to collect study participant data including obtaining informed consent Prepares detailed notes of all interactions with participants Completes data entry and quality control ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collection; may investigate missing or invalid data and prepare data sets Help maintain research files to store, access, and retrieve study data as specified at one or more sites Communicates with Research Coordinator and/or Principal Investigator to provide updates Schedules and attends research meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes May prepare and mail out/email follow-up questionnaires to research participants or collaborators Prioritizes and monitors various study deadlines for their own work Provides other administrative support as required, including filing, photocopying, acquiring signatures and CV maintenance May assist team members with preparing materials for proposals, progress reports, presentations, and publications May assist in the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and the interpretation of results    As a role model and champion, you will work to identify and integrate safe, best practices into daily activities to foster the delivery of safe and exemplary care.    The responsibilities described above are representative and are not to be construed as all-inclusive.   Qualifications/Skills:   Undergraduate or graduate degree in a related field or one year of equivalent experience Some experience in a health research setting preferred Experience supporting the clinical validation of medical imaging technologies or devices in clinical or research setting is considered a strong asset Experience with clinical or surgical imaging environments is considered an asset   Demonstrated experience working with human research ethics protocols, informed consent processes, and regulatory requirements in hospital Experience working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, graduate students, research associates and medical trainees in an academic research environment Demonstrated ability to work independent in patient-facing research environment with sound judgement and attention to participant safety and confidentiality Excellent problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communications skills Work efficiently under pressure with strong judgement and decision-making skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Mastery of MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Access and Word an asset Demonstrated record of good performance and acceptable attendance will be considered as part of the selection criteria Professional behaviour and communication that meets the standards of the professional regulatory college or association, as applicable, and the standards of Women’s College Hospital This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all
