About the role:

• As Senior Manager, PMO, you will be responsible for leading the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and success of WeLab Bank’s technical projects. You will act as the central point of accountability for the tech project portfolio, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with business value, delivered on time, and of high quality.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

• Oversee the portfolio of technical projects to optimize resource allocation and priorities initiatives that deliver the greatest value to the bank.
• Own end‑to‑end project delivery, from planning and requirements translation through to live production, including timely identification and resolution of risks and issues
• Work closely with product teams, business units, and technical teams to ensure high‑quality deliverables and alignment across all stakeholders
• Manage project schedules, dependencies, and constraints, and communicate status, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively to project stakeholders.
• Ensure business and product requirements are translated into practical, bank‑grade system implementations that meet regulatory, security, and operational standards.
• Take ownership and accountability for project deliverables, including scope, quality, and timeliness.
• Lead agile delivery and continuously improve ways of working, ensuring software delivery follows recognized engineering practices such as automated testing, continuous integration, and test‑driven development where appropriate.
• Manage overall deliverable change control and oversee corrective operations in production, ensuring controlled, traceable, and low‑risk updates.
• Continuously optimize project management processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Identify skill gaps within project teams and implement training programs to address them.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to project managers and team members.
  

What is required and what we’re looking for

• Degree or above in Information Technology / Business Administration or related field.
• At least 15 years of professional experience in Information Technology PMO or project delivery in Banking / Financial Services Industries.
• Experienced in working in an agile team with software engineering practices like automated testing, test-driven development, continuous integration, etc. is preferred
• PMP, Certified Scrum Master, ITIL knowledge an advantage.
• Comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies and project lifecycles.
• Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and managing project risks.
• Good understanding of technology project deliverables and architecture design and principles
  
• Ability to analyse project data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Adaptability to changing project requirements and business priorities.
• Effective communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to present complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
