About this Role:

• You will drive enterprise-wide partnerships that accelerate growth across WeLab Bank’s retail banking, investment, insurance, and lending businesses. The role focuses on identifying, structuring, and scaling strategic collaborations with FI and ecosystem partners to grow customer base, deepen product penetration, and enhance profitability, while ensuring compliance with Hong Kong regulatory requirements.

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role

• Lead the end-to-end partnership lifecycle (strategy, sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management).
• Identify and prioritize partnership opportunities with insurers, asset managers, fintechs, platforms, and other ecosystem players that support WeLab Bank’s growth agenda and customer value proposition.
• Develop business cases, financial models, and strategic recommendations for new partnerships, including revenue projections, customer impact, and resource requirements.
• Structure commercial and operating models (e.g. distribution, co-branded products, embedded finance, referral arrangements) and lead term sheet and contract negotiations in collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance.
• Drive cross-functional execution with Product, Technology, Operations, Marketing, Credit, and Customer Experience teams to ensure timely launch and scaling of partnership-led initiatives.
• Establish and track KPIs and performance dashboards for each partnership (customer acquisition, usage, revenue, cost, and risk metrics), and lead regular performance reviews with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all partnership activities comply with HKMA and other relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk appetite, working closely with Compliance, Risk, and Legal teams.
• Prepare executive updates, steering committee materials, and board-level summaries on partnership strategy, pipeline, and performance.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in digital banking, wealth, and insurance to identify new partnership opportunities and strategic risks.
  

What is required and what we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline; postgraduate degree or professional qualification is an advantage.
• 8 years+ experience in strategic partnerships, business development, corporate development, or product/segment management within banking, insurance, asset management, or fintech.
• Demonstrated track record of originating, negotiating, and delivering strategic partnerships that drive measurable business growth.
• Prior experience in Hong Kong financial services and familiarity with HKMA / SFC regulatory environment strongly preferred.
• Strong proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
  

• Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin (preferred) with excellent written and verbal communication skills
