We’re looking for a driven and forward-thinking Maintenance Manager to lead operations at our Grandview, Washington manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll take charge of equipment reliability, facility excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives that elevate performance across the site. You’ll play a critical role in building a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence—while developing and inspiring a high-performing team of Maintenance Supervisors, Buyers, Planners, Reliability Engineers, and technicians.
Success in this role means championing best-in-class maintenance practices, driving measurable results, and ensuring full alignment with company policies, customer expectations, and SQF (Safe Quality Foods) standards. You’ll also serve as a key advocate for food safety and quality, ensuring issues are proactively identified and addressed.
Responsibilities

- →Lead and continuously enhance the plant’s Lockout Tagout program, setting the standard for safety excellence.
- →Own and elevate key performance metrics like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), using data to unlock new levels of efficiency.
- →Drive continuous improvement by analyzing performance data and transforming maintenance practices.
- →Strategically plan work schedules and production sequences to maximize uptime and performance.
- →Champion standard work processes to ensure consistency, reliability, and scalability.
- →Partner cross-functionally to optimize operations and break down silos between departments.
- →Ensure facility integrity by proactively managing inspections, repairs, and maintenance execution.
- →Optimize parts inventory and vendor partnerships to improve service, cost, and reliability.
- →Lead sustainability and energy-reduction initiatives that make a measurable impact.
- →Drive disciplined project execution and seamlessly integrate improvements into daily operations.
- →Coach and develop teams on TPM and CI tools such as Root Cause Analysis, RCM, and FMEA.
- →Embed safety, quality, and environmental standards into every aspect of maintenance operations.
- →Own the maintenance budget and deliver strong financial performance through smart resource management.
- →Advance TPM and RCM strategies, leveraging CMMS to build a world-class maintenance planning process.
- →Build, mentor, and hold accountable a high-performing team that consistently delivers results.
You are a proactive leader with a passion for safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You thrive on solving complex challenges, developing people, and driving measurable results. You bring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to everything you do.
Specifically, you:
- Bring deep expertise in MRO best practices, cost optimization, and vendor management.
- Have a strong foundation in continuous improvement and a track record of leading Kaizen events.
- Excel at Root Cause Analysis and solving complex operational issues.
- Communicate clearly and confidently, inspiring teams and influencing across the organization.
To excel in this role, you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred).
- At least 3 years of leadership experience in reliability or maintenance, ideally within food and beverage manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of advanced plant operations and maintenance systems.
- Proven experience leading teams and managing complex maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with RCM, PSM, and environmental and safety standards.
- Experience with capital projects, wastewater systems, or related areas is a plus.
- The ability to be active on the plant floor, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000 annually for US-based employees. This range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position across all US locations, is based on a full-time work schedule, and is Welch’s good faith estimate as of the date of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a bonus plan.
