Fractional CTO (Netsuite Implementation)

Our client has selected NetSuite as their ERP platform and engaged external development partners but lacks internal senior technical leadership to manage the implementation, set priorities, and translate business requirements into clear, executable technical decisions.
This engagement supports a $30M manufacturing company that outsources approximately 85% of production, with final assembly and operations managed onsite at its U.S. facility.
Fractional CTO Responsibilities
Implementation Oversight

• Act as technical owner of the ERP and core systems implementation
• Translate operational and financial requirements into clear technical direction
• Review and challenge proposed technical designs and customizations
• Prevent unnecessary customization and long-term technical debt

• Manage internal developers and third-party system integrators
• Establish sprint priorities, milestones, and acceptance criteria
• Hold vendors accountable for timelines, quality, and documentation
• Serve as the escalation point for technical and cross-functional issues

• Coordinate across operations, finance, engineering, and IT
• Drive decisions when ownership or consensus stalls
• Ensure system design aligns with real shop-floor and operational processes

• Identify implementation risks before they impact production
• Stabilize scope, budget, and timeline
• Support testing, cutover planning, and go-live readiness

• 15+ years of progressive IT or technology leadership experience
• Prior experience leading or overseeing NetSuite ERP implementations
• Experience managing external system integrators and development partners
• Strong understanding of ERP design tradeoffs in mid-market organizations
• Proven ability to translate business requirements into effective technical execution
