You will be responsible for providing intermediate-level accounting support for field operations. The role involves performing a range of semi-routine accounting and data-related activities, maintaining accurate information, and applying established procedures to complete assignments with minimal instruction.
You will use accounting systems, spreadsheets, databases, and other tools to enter, retrieve, calculate, and review information. You will also use sound judgment when determining the appropriate procedure or established practice to follow, recognizing issues and recommending practical solutions when needed.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform field accounting and administrative activities in accordance with established procedures, processes, and project requirements.
- →Enter, retrieve, calculate, and maintain financial and operational information accurately and efficiently.
- →Review data and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency and identify discrepancies or missing information.
- →Process routine accounting transactions and supporting documentation within established guidelines.
- →Maintain organized and accurate electronic and/or physical records.
- →Use spreadsheets, accounting systems, databases, and other applicable tools to support daily activities.
- →Perform calculations involving decimals, fractions, and other financial or operational data as required.
- →Research and resolve routine discrepancies by applying established procedures, prior experience, and available resources.
- →Recognize issues that fall outside established procedures and recommend appropriate solutions or escalate them to the appropriate team member.
- →Communicate accounting information, questions, and issues clearly with field personnel, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- →Support the timely completion of accounting activities and reporting requirements.
- →Follow applicable company, project, financial, and internal control procedures.
- →Maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate care when handling financial and project information.
- →Contribute to a collaborative team environment and support continuous improvement in day-to-day processes.
You will bring a practical approach to accounting support, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within established processes.
Key qualifications and skills include:
- Secondary school education or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of relevant accounting, finance, clerical, administrative, or project support experience.
- Experience performing data entry, maintaining records, processing documentation, or supporting financial transactions.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and terminology.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and the ability to accurately enter, retrieve, organize, and calculate data.
- Intermediate understanding of accounting systems, databases, or other tools used to support financial and field activities.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work with numerical information, including decimals, fractions, calculations, and financial data.
- Ability to follow established procedures while determining the appropriate process or precedent to apply when situations vary.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize issues and recommend solutions from a defined range of options.
- Ability to manage multiple routine activities and maintain accuracy while working to established deadlines.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to explain information and collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to work with minimal instruction while recognizing when an issue requires additional guidance or escalation.
- A dependable, collaborative approach and willingness to support field and project team objectives.
- Previous experience supporting accounting activities within an engineering, construction, energy, industrial, or project environment is beneficial.
