About the role
Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will lead the People agenda for Worley’s Group Functions, translating enterprise and functional priorities into integrated workforce, talent and organisation strategies that strengthen performance, strengthen governance, manage people-related risk management and long-term capability.
As a trusted executive advisor, you will shape decisions on workforce planning, organisation design, leadership, succession, talent, culture, performance, transformation and employee relations, using. commercial and financial insight, data analytics, external market intelligence and executive presence to deliver anticipate risks, resolve complex issues and measurable outcomes.
You will mobilise People capabilities across Business Partnering, People Operations and Centres of Excellence, while fostering inclusive leadership, ethical conduct, employee engagement and enterprise-wide collaboration to foster a resilient, high-performing People team.

What you will be accountable for

  • Partner with Group Executive and functional leaders to translate business, financial priorities into clear People plans, with clear governance, ownership, measures and outcomes.
  • Advise and challenge senior leaders on workforce, organisation, leadership, talent, culture, performance, reward, employee relations and transformation decisions, using sound judgment and strategic decisiveness.
  • Lead strategic workforce planning, identifying future capability needs, material risks, critical skill gaps and market trends.
  • Shape talent, leadership development and organisation strategies aligned to functional priorities, enterprise transformation and Worley’s future capability needs.
  • Lead organisation architecture, organisation design, operating model and effectiveness initiatives that improve accountability, productivity, collaboration, and adaptability to change.
  • Own executive and senior leadership succession planning, talent reviews and leadership assessment, converting outcomes into targeted development, mobility and hiring actions.
  • Coach senior leaders on leadership effectiveness, organisational capability, team performance, potential and readiness, strengthening the leadership pipeline and succession bench.
  • Guide transformation, restructuring, digital change and cost initiatives, balancing business outcomes, workforce impact, governance, compliance, risk, employee experience and sustainable performance.
  • Align performance and reward priorities with functional and enterprise objectives, reinforcing accountability and behaviours consistent with Worley’s values.
  • Use workforce analytics, organisational data, financial insight and market intelligence to frame options and support evidence-based decisions.
  • Mobilise Centres of Excellence, People Operations, regional People teams and Business Partners to deliver coherent, practical and business-aligned People solutions.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, sound judgment and appropriate escalation.
  • Group Functions have clear, integrated People plans aligned to enterprise and functional priorities, with agreed outcomes, ownership and measures.
  • Senior leaders receive credible, commercially grounded and timely advice that improves workforce, talent and organisation decisions.
  • Workforce plans identify future capability needs and material risks early, with practical actions to address critical gaps.
  • Organisation design and transformation initiatives deliver clearer accountability, improved productivity, effective execution and sustainable capability.
  • Executive succession, talent review and development actions strengthen leadership quality, successor readiness and organisational bench strength.
  • People capabilities are integrated effectively around Group Function needs, with disciplined execution and a positive leader and employee experience.
  • The Group Functions People team demonstrates strong capability, collaboration, enterprise orientation and measurable contribution to business outcomes.
  • Positive stakeholder feedback on the quality of strategic support, communication, coordination and follow-through.

About you

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, organisational development, psychology or a relevant field, or equivalent directly relevant experience.
  • Significant People leadership experience as a trusted partner to senior executives in a large, complex, matrixed organisation, with the judgement and resilience to lead through ambiguity and change.
  • Demonstrated success translating business and functional strategies into workforce, talent and organisation priorities that deliver measurable business value.
  • Deep expertise across workforce planning, organisation architecture and design and development, succession, talent, leadership, performance, culture, employee engagement, employee relations and change. 
  • Strong business, commercial and financial acumen, connecting market dynamics, value drivers, risk considerations and enterprise priorities to People decisions.
  • Proven executive advisory, stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the confidence to challenge, resolve, resolving conflict and build alignment across senior stakeholder groups.
  • Strong analytical judgment, using workforce, organisational, financial and market data to anticipate risks and recommend action.
  • Experience leading transformation, restructuring, operating-model change, integration, digital change or cost optimisation.
  • Global, cross-cultural leadership experience and with a demonstrated commitment to inclusion, inclusive leadership, equitable practices and creating a strong sense of belonging.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop senior People professionals and mobilise cross-functional teams through authority and influence.
  • Excellent executive communication, executive presence and a continuous-improvement mindset, using People systems, analytics, digital tools and AI responsibly.
  • Experience in engineering, procurement and construction, or another project-based and asset-intensive industry, is preferred.
