About Woven by Toyota
Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.
Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

Toyota is redefining what it means to move. We're challenging the current state of mobility by enhancing the movement of people, goods, information and energy. Centered around three core concepts - A Living Laboratory™, Human-Centered, and Ever Evolving City™ - Woven City serves as a test course for mobility to fulfill our purpose of well-being for all.
We do this by bringing together a diverse community of people with a shared passion for the future of mobility to co-create, develop and refine innovative products and services. This cross-section of social infrastructure, mobility, and people provides a unique opportunity for inventors, residents and visitors to interact seamlessly with new technologies throughout daily life in an environment that emulates a real city.
You will report to the Lead of Tenant & Co-inventor Relations, and this job’s workplace type is hybrid (office and remote).

Toyota Woven City’s Residents will play an important role by weaving a better future, “the future fabric of life”, through mobility with the inventors. They are the heart of TWC. Through experiencing advanced products and communicating with the inventors, TWC residents are important to inspire the inventors and help them accelerate the development speed of their inventions. We value these activities as our commitment to create “Well-being for all”. We are looking for a person who is ready to take on this important role, creating the inspirations for the residents to take part in the PoC activities, and designing the community for them to participate in the co-creation process.
To achieve the fine balance of ‘triple-win’ between TWC, Inventors and Residents, we would like you to have the ownership to make negotiations / establish the necessary relationship with multiple stakeholders.
In the short term, you will be responsible for the successful on-boarding of residents (smooth transition and involvement in the city), and in the medium to long term, you will take ownership of community formation centered on residents to enhance the value creation of the city as a whole.
Form and operate a community among residents, including inventors, and accompany residents to participate in co-creation/PoC activities
To be close to residents from move-in to move-out, and to eliminate concerns and improve satisfaction in living and PoC activities
Improve operations based on issues and ideas generated in the course of activities, and accompany residents
Building long-term relationships with residents, including those outside the Woven City area and those who have moved out
Planning and operation of facilities that serve as the foundation for community formation, information dissemination, and management of external staff
(approximately 5+ years experience preferred)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
Professional experience in community management, facility operations, area management, or urban/community development
Experience leading or driving projects involving internal teams and external stakeholders
Experience planning and operating events, or creating content based on communication strategies
Business-level proficiency in Japanese and conversational level in English
A proactive mindset toward creating new value, with the ability to think beyond oneself, translate ideas into concrete actions, and execute them
A positive and purpose-driven attitude, with the ability to enjoy interacting with diverse people and work closely with residents and community members to identify challenges and ideas together
Even if you do not meet all of the above qualifications, we encourage you to apply if you have a strong interest in this role and relevant experience.
